WE’RE ROOFRIENDS
a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that raises funds, recruits volunteers, supports teachers, builds community, and champions opportunities for all students at Roosevelt International Middle School—an IB and Media Arts Magnet School in San Diego’s historic Balboa Park.
RooFriends is governed by a Board of Directors, which has the authority to execute any policies it determines to be in the best interest of the organization within the parameters of the organization’s policies and procedures, bylaws, or federal, state, and local law. The Board of Directors reviews and approves budget items and reviews operations and activities regularly.
The Board is responsible for overseeing monies from fundraisers, managing cash donations, setting annual fundraising targets, and creating short and long-term spending goals to advance the primary objective of supporting the Foundation’s mission at Roosevelt Middle School.

The Foundation meets monthly during the school year except December.
For the 2025-2026 school year, our meetings will be held on the first Tuesday of each month at 6:00pm in the Library.
In addition to board meetings, we join the principal every other month for RooFriends + Principal Town Hall meetings.
For the 2025-2026 school year, our meeting will be held on the fourth Thursday of every other month beginning in August at 9am in the library, except in December when we will meet on the third Thursday.
