Why We’re Asking
San Diego Unified funds a school librarian at Roosevelt one day per week. One day for 800 students.
For the past several years, RooFriends has funded two additional days, and the school has used Title I funds to cover a fourth. That’s how every student gets:
Library lessons integrated into their learning
Bi-weekly class visits instead of once every other month
Access to the library during tech-free lunch
Next year, the cost of those two RooFriends-funded days is rising from $30,000 to $40,000—a 25% increase due to rising benefit costs and cost-of-living adjustments.
The district provides the foundation.
Our community builds the experience.

You Don’t Need a Student at Roosevelt to Make a Difference
Roosevelt International Middle School is in the heart of the Balboa Park neighborhood. A strong school means stronger property values, safer streets, and a more connected community.
When you support RooFriends, you’re investing in the neighborhood we all share.
